I wasn’t a happy camper this morning when I got up. Not only does my throat hurt a lot more now (though that was possibly my fault with the amount of red wine I drank last night). Either way it really ached this morning and swallowing at first was a very painful exercise, still is in fact. The other thing that hurts is my back, lower back to be precise. The pain there now is a it worse, and as of this evening bending down to pick up things isn’t fun. Even sitting in certain positions just doesn’t feel right and I think I might need to see a chiropractor if it doesn’t improve. At least that’s what a friend suggested I do. And for anyone wondering, I didn’t have a hangover this morning. My head felt fine, well maybe a little […]

Today I went back to USQ, from the Gold Coast. I left slightly earlier than usual, having woken this morning with a very sore throat. I quickly had some lemsip to soothe myself, and it got a bit better, so I’ll definitely have to buy some stepsils at some point. I checked my bank balance and I am getting low but it is the end of the month after all. I expect I should manage fine till next week, besides, dad will be back on Saturday. I added another link to my front page of my website. It links to a currently empty gallery that mum will be filling with some pictures from her recent trip to Laos soon.

Shortly after I got back I was surprised to hear that there had been a bomb scare at Orion. Someone had apparently said […]

Today was the Education City Fiesta, and USQ Open Day. I presume the main idea was to promote the university and tafe and get some students enrolled, or at least wanting to be enrolled here. So while there would have been high expectations for the day, what really transpired wasn’t as good. They had an outdoor stage set up for live music throughout the day, including the headline band Operator Please; food and drinks stalls, as well as various advertisers promoting their products, a large booth for the university to promote its courses, and a few fair ground attractions (bumper cars, flying chairs, farm animals). It seemed like they had really tried, but the things weren’t set up terribly well, and it just looked bad. Most of the music played was pretty boring. But most importantly the massive crowds they had predicted weren’t here […]

My Friday was fairly dull once again. I might have done more had it not rained throughout much of the day. Nothing really went on till this evening, when I had some drinks with the guys next door, played some uno and watched some movies. That lasted long into the night, but I played it safe and drank slowly, so right now I don’t feel bad, and don’t think I’ll have a hangover tomorrow either. I thought I’d do a little rant here on a couple of things. First of all is my internet here with Nsane, it’s absolutely terrible right now. For the past couple days it’s been going up and down on me and it’s really frustrating me. I have checked it’s not just my computer, as others are experiencing the issue too. I hope they fix whatever the issue […]

This university is full of douchebags. I received an email last week informing me this weeks lecture for one of my classes wouldn’t be held (due to more than half the students being on pracs), and only the tutorial would be running. So imagine my surprise when I walked to the tutorial room this morning and found the lecture about to finish with a class of about 10 students. I couldn’t believe they chose to run it and not send out another email, the students there probably didn’t get the first email so didn’t know it wasn’t meant to be on. Either way, I couldn’t just walk in for the last 5 minutes of the lecture, and then join a class that’s been taught for the past hour, that would of been too awkward, so I came back to my room and looked through the material […]

As is my life, I go from a huge day where I did everything, to a day I did nothing and got really bored. It seems to happen that way a lot. I woke early, before my alarm and actually felt great, but when I realised the time I went back to sleep, sleeping-in till late. There were a few games on around the university campus again today, but I didn’t see anyone I knew so didn’t participate. There was supposedly a BBQ lunch too, but I looked and saw nothing, so gave up on the free food idea. This evening turned out to be even more boring till just after midnight when some Olympics athletics was on TV. I again watched in awe as the Jamaican, Usain Bolt, won another gold medal and another world record in the 200m. And he did […]

This morning wasn’t my morning for getting up on time. I actually woke quite early due to my alarm, but was still too sleepy to get out of bed so slept-in for another half an hour, then I was just too comfortable and thought I could have another few minutes, but slept for 2 hours. Luckily for a change, Ann phoned and woke me. I went round to her house after quickly checking my mail and sorted out her latest ebay issues. I don’t think there was an issue, it was simply just a badly labelled email to her. No pancakes for breakfast this morning, but a letter in the mailbox dashed all hopes of getting a job. I received a rejection letter, citing a number of applications with high standards and mine not being one of them. That would be true though […]

Reasonably normal day today. Sze Sze got me up this morning at 9:30 per my wishes last night, and then we made pancakes together while watching TV. The first pancake stuck to the pan and the second burnt, but the rest were fine. I don’t suppose we had lunch, apart from some snacks. Sze Sze did her home work and I watched whatever I could find on TV. At the end of the afternoon I took Sze Sze to one of her friends places where she supposedly did some work and had dinner. I picked her up just after 7 to take her back to school. I had dinner at Yvonne’s along with Ada and Ann after that. Originally it was just going to be Yvonne and me, but Ada and Ann had a few drinks after walking the dogs and managed […]

Well this morning I somehow got myself out of bed and slowly got my act together, for Chilli’s sake as she needed the toilet. I took her out for a quick wee, before taking her on a slightly longer walk before lunchtime. Also this morning I had to help Ann with her computer again as she was having more troubles with ebay. I think I sorted out her troubles and re-listed her item. After lunchtime I went to pick Sze Sze up from school. There were no hassles there and we stopped off at woolies on the way home to get some credit for my phone and some groceries I needed. When we got home we did a video chat to Hong Kong (mum) and New Zealand (dad), and although there were a few problems at first, it all worked smoothly in the end. […]
